   Renting a Flat
If you are coming to UK with family to work, live it is advisable to rent a house or flat. The prices will vary depending upon the number of rooms in the flat.

Property owner will ask for reference or reference letter before letting you the place. You could get a reference letter from your employer or friends in UK. Usually you will have to pay one month advance and one month rent before collecting the property key from the owner. Mostly property will come with furniture’s like sofa, bed, wardrobe, kitchen facilities like oven, fridge, washing machine, heater etc. Usually property owners will ask you to sign the tenant agreement and give a copy to you. It’s better to mention the list of items available in the property in the tenant agreement. Ask for the tenant agreement if the property owner didn’t give the tenant agreement as you will need that as your proof of stay to register with the council, library, GP or to settle any dispute with the owner.

  • Double bed room flat £800
  • 3 bed room flat £1000

Usually you will have to pay the council tax, electricity, gas, water bills. So take the cost of these utility bills as well while calculating the expense of renting a property. Some flat would come with a communal garden, but usually it’s difficult to find a garden in flats.
