Theory Driving Test
If you have got the provisional license you could apply for the theory test. Theory test can be booked online or over the telephone with your provisional license, home, and payment card details. Once you booked your theory test you would receive confirmation letter from the DVLA with the date, time, and place of the theory test.
You need prepare yourself for the theory test using theory test books, CD, and if you have computer and Internet connection you could find more valuable materials to prepare yourself for the theory test.
Theory test will be online test which consist of two parts multiple choices test and Hazard perception test. Results will be displayed as soon as you finish your test. If you fail in any of these test you will have to appear again, that is you will have to reappear.
For cars and motorcycles in the multiple choices test you'll be asked 50 questions in 57 minutes and the pass mark is 43 out of 50. Usually questions will be based around UK traffic rules, standards, signals, signs etc. as single and multiple choices questions.
In the Hazard perception test you will be shown 14 video clips in which various driving situations will be shown to you one by one and you will have to react to those video clips as a driver using the computer mouse. Mark will be given based on how quick and how sensibly you are reacting to various situations in the road as a driver.
Basically you will have to click using the computer mouse on all the various hazards and details you will have to look out while driving in the road. For example you will have to click the zebra crossing, sign board, signal, round about, cyclist, cars coming behind you, cars ahead of you, cars over taking you etc. The pass mark for the car and motorcycle hazard perception part of the theory test is 44 out of 75
